BRISTOL, Pa., March 1, 2016 -- Recently, SDI, the leading provider of Supply Chain As-a-Service for Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO), announced it signed a multi-year contract for fully integrated, end-to-end MRO supply chain services with Axiall Corporation, a leading chemical and building products manufacturer with over 6,000 employees and approximately $4 billion in annual revenue. The solution (known as Enterprise MRO) includes master data management, sourcing and supplier relations, buying and AP transaction services, on-site storeroom management and engineering services – all optimized with technology designed expressly for MRO to work in synchronization with the rest of the supply chain ecosystem.
Axiall's partnership with SDI transforms the MRO at Axiall's Natrium WV chemical facility from a supply category into an integrated business process that enables efficient manufacturing, reliable production and agile operations. Axiall is open to rolling out the solution to other sites after a successful implementation at Natrium.
Chris Moore, CEO at SDI said, "Axiall is a different kind of company – one that takes a design approach to their work, using chemistry to solve common problems to improve everyday life. It's that design thinking that brought them together with SDI to elevate MRO beyond a supply category to a core-enabling, mission-critical business process that impacts adaptable, reliable and intelligent operations."
The chemical products produced by Axiall can be found in high performance plastics, pulp and paper production, packaging, chemical intermediates, paints, and medical and agricultural applications. The company also produces vinyl building products. With approximately 25 plants in North America, Axiall has a significant opportunity over time to streamline and optimize the MRO business process. With MRO-focused resources and an enterprise model designed to align to each phase of the client's supply chain, SDI will help Axiall become more innovative in the way it approaches the maintenance, repair and operations of its manufacturing supply chain and processes.
Axiall Corporation is a strategic client for SDI, illustrating the shift in the industry from viewing MRO as simply a spend category to a supply chain that enables their core operations with direct impact on business outcomes.

Using a custom suite of products, services and tools, SDI's platform coordinates, aligns and optimizes every step of the MRO business process. Lower costs, smarter inventories and more reliable production are all natural results from a more connected MRO supply chain.
