SOMERSET, N.J. and CAMPBELL, Calif., May 03, 2018 -- SHI International Corp., one of America’s top 10 largest IT solutions providers, and Bitglass, the Next-Gen CASB Company, have been selected to deliver cloud security solutions to tens of thousands of Illinois students and faculty by the Illinois Public Higher Education Cooperative (IPHEC) via Contract #RM071017. As an awarded vendor, SHI and Bitglass will have the opportunity to service all 13 public, higher education institutions, as well as Illinois community colleges.
IPHEC was formed to consolidate common requirements for various state universities on one bid with subsequent orders being placed by each individual university for the contract period. The 13 campuses of the nine Illinois public universities participate in the cooperative.
“We are excited to partner with Bitglass, to provide their Next-Gen CASB solution to all of Illinois’ public, higher education institutions,” said Ed McNamara, senior director of communications and marketing, SHI. “Bitglass’ agentless, real-time data and threat protection architecture uniquely balances user experience and privacy with higher education’s need to protect personal data and intellectual property.”
“Extending our existing partnership with SHI through the IPHEC contract will help all 13 campuses ensure a secure, compliant move to the public cloud,” said Mike Schuricht, vice president product management of Bitglass. “SHI’s expertise in cloud migration, and in deploying the Bitglass Cloud Access Security Broker, will ensure fast, successful adoption across these schools.”
