Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe continue to make waves in the entertainment industry as their time-traveling hit-series, “Outlander,” is proving more popular than ever. Right now, the series is moving towards the healing process of Brianna (Sophie Skelton) after she was sexually assaulted by Bonnet (Ed Speleers).
Brianna’s mending will mostly be helmed by Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) but the young Fraser first need to find her parents. Fortunately, that meeting will take place in the upcoming episode as was seen in the trailer.
While Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters are quite intimate in the show, they also share a close bond off the set. “We’re each other’s biggest supporters. Sam is always there if I ever need to talk, or if I’m stressed out about something, and vice versa. We have very similar personality traits in some ways, but then also we handle things very differently,” the actress shared.
During their interview with New York Magazine, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were asked varying questions about their respective lives. Balfe was declared the winner by the end of it, scoring four out of eight questions. Heughan, on the other hand, only got three correct.
Although the number isn’t stellar, the interview still highlighted the chemistry between Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. And this is the reason for the success of “Outlander.” The series has been warmly received by critics and fans of the book, scoring an 8.5/10 in IMDB and a whopping 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Aside from chemistry, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s acting skills are also another reason why the show is quite gripping. Heughan even refused to utter a line in the previous installment as he believes it was so out of character for Jamie to voice such sentiments. Both actors said that filming the series is taking a toll on them as they usually film outdoors. But all their efforts are being rewarded right now as fans are loving every minute of the latest season of “Outlander.”
