Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are starring in the hit drama series “Outlander” and they had many steamy scenes. With their on-screen chemistry and daring stunts, many people say that it is impossible that they are not dating in real life. However, whether they believe it or not, that is the truth.
Heughan and Balfe did not date while filming “Outlander” despite the rumors. They have undeniable chemistry and they are doing great with portraying their roles as husband and wife - Claire and Jamie Fraser - but that is all that they have. What’s more, a few months ago, prior to the release of “Outlander” season 5, it was reported that Caitriona Balfe already tied the knot with her boyfriend. Apparently, it was a secret wedding and Sam Heughan was one of the guests. This means that although they sometimes flirt on social media, they are really just good friends.

Balfe married Tony McGill and even if people try to research about him online, no details will show up because he is really a private person. He is said to be a music producer and obviously, he doesn’t do social media.

Meanwhile, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are returning on the small screen as “Outlander” season 5 is set to return on Feb. 16, 2020. Prior to the premiere, Starz announced that the cast will attend the New York Comic-Con this Oct. 5 at The Hulu Theatre in Madison Square Garden and the panelist will include the lead actors plus Maria Doyle Kennedy, Duncan LaCroix and the book author Diana Gabaldon.
