Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are the leads in Starz’s drama “Outlander” that is now on its fifth season. There are still a few months left before the drama returns so to tease the fans a bit, Starz uploaded some photos of the cast and this definitely gives an idea to the viewers of how the Frasers look like in the upcoming chapter.
The first photo teaser featuring Sam and Caitriona
In the first photo, the Fraser family consisting of Jamie, Claire, Brianna and her husband Roger stands in their home’s dining area and they seem to be celebrating something like Thanksgiving. There is a feast on the table and the fireplace is ablaze to keep the house warm, the foodstuff is for celebrations thus they must celebrating an important occasion.
It was previously revealed that there would lots of conflicts in “Outlander” season 5 but looking at the family in this picture, everything looks calm and great. But then, they could be at peace at some points and in trouble in the next because Sam Heughan already shared that he will be in a tricky situation in “Outlander” season 5.
“Jamie’s actually in a really difficult situation this season,” Heughan told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s done a deal with the British, but he’s working for two different camps and he’s trying to protect his people, and he’s trying to protect Fraser’s Ridge.”
On the other hand, Brianna will also be in pain in the new season of “Outlander” because she was traumatized by her rape ordeal. She will be in shock to know that her rapist Stephen Bonnet has not been captured and just roaming around North Carolina.
Filming ended and the sixth season is confirmed
Starz announced on Nov. 22 that filming for “Outlander” season 5 officially concluded on Nov. 22. But there is good news as Caitriona Balfe hinted that season 6 is now in the works. Sam Heughan’s co-star even shared that they are expecting to be back on the set to film after May 2020.
This is because the Balfe said that the scripts will not be ready until this date. One major detail that she revealed was that her character Claire had survived and will make it through until the sixth season.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will be back as Jamie and Claire Fraser in the “Outlander” series on Feb. 16, 2020.
