Samsung fans might not have to wait for the company’s official announcement of its next flagship tablet series, thanks to a new leak. The full specifications of three Galaxy Tab S8 models may have been revealed already, along with their European prices and available memory configurations.
The jam-packed leak came from the noted insider Roland Quandt, who shared three specs sheets revealing possibly all the details about the Galaxy Tab S8 models. Like in the case of the Galaxy S22, tech fans have already seen too many leaks months before Samsung’s next Unpacked event. But the latest report further corroborates the addition of a new “Ultra” model in Samsung’s premium tablet line.
At a glance, there are several notable similarities among the three Galaxy Tab S8 models. For one, they all have the same rear-facing dual-camera setup rumored to include a 13MP main camera and a 6MP ultra-wide sensor. A 12MP ultra-wide-angle selfie camera is available on all the tablets, but the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra exclusively has a 12MP “primary camera” on the front as well.
Other expected specs for all three Galaxy Tab S8 models include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the availability of One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 at launch, S Pen support, quad speakers with AKG, and Dolby Atmos support, 5G network, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
The screen sizes are expected to be the same, which means the regular Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S8+ will have 11-inch and 12.4-inch displays, respectively, while the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will sport a 14.6-inch screen. The Plus and Ultra models reportedly have Super AMOLED panels, while the base model features TFT LCD. All tablets may have different screen resolutions, but they are all listed with up to 120Hz refresh rates.
The same source shared the supposed full list of memory and storage options for each Galaxy Tab S8 model. Both the base plus models will only have 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage. There are more configurations for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, including 8GB/12GB/16GB RAM and 128GB/256/512GB storage.
While most of the teasers for the Galaxy Unpacked on Wednesday, Feb. 9, are only hinting at the Galaxy S22’s announcement, Samsung is also expected to unveil its new tablets at the same event. The reported starting prices for European markets are €749 for the Galaxy Tab S8,€949 for the Galaxy Tab S8+, and €1,149 for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
