In less than a month, Samsung could be hosting its biggest Galaxy Unpacked presentation of the year based on the number of expected products to be announced at the event. Persistent leaks have proliferated over the last couple of weeks that may have revealed most, if not all, the announcements the tech giant is gearing up for next month.
When’s the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked
Multiple sources with good track records have now reported that the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is happening on Aug. 11. The information has leaked more than a month ahead despite reports that the company has become more aggressive in its efforts to take down posts from notable leakers.
Tron was one of the first leakers to provide a specific date for the Galaxy Unpacked, and it has since been reiterated by the likes of Ice Universe, Max Jambor, and more recently, Evan Blass. In Tron’s post, the tipster also claimed that the event would take place at 10 a.m. Eastern Time with a live stream on Samsung’s website.
What devices could be announced
Amid reports that Samsung is trying to take down online leaks with copyright strike-downs, Blass went ahead and posted a long Twitter thread Saturday with all the GIF renders of the devices reportedly launching in August. All the products that are expected to be announced soon have been redesigned. And as reported earlier this year, the lineup does not include a new Galaxy Note.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 appears in the colors silver, black, and green. The leaks from Blass suggest the external display could be bigger than last year’s foldable smartphone and sports a hole-punch for what could be a fifth camera. When the device unfolds in the renders, the main screen is revealed without a display notch or hole-punch, which corresponds to the rumored under-display camera. A triple camera array is seen in the back of the device. While the images do not include a stylus, the device is expected to support the S Pen.
A redesigned Galaxy Z Flip 3 also appears in the leaks in more colors, including purple, black, gold, and green. The rear-facing cameras have a new layout, and the cover display is also significantly larger than the preceding flip phone.
There is also a smartphone with a conventional form factor in Blass’ tweets, which is likely the mid-range Galaxy S21 FE. While it is one of the products expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month, there are speculations that it could enter the market at a much later time.
Two models of Galaxy Watch 4 also appeared in the leaks. The watch face on one of them has a more classic look, while the other has a sporty look. Lastly, the rumored Galaxy Buds 2 is also included in the thread. Like the other devices, it is expected to be redesigned and come with a charging case that lost similar to the Galaxy Buds Live.
