Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently confirmed that its next console offering codenamed Project Scorpio will be formally revealed at this year’s E3. At that time, Microsoft will take the plunge, which will decide the future of its gaming sector. On that note, some are of the opinion that the software giant has a huge advantage this time around. More than the system itself, it’s the simple message that will finally put the Xbox in high gear again.
Based on early reports, the Xbox Scorpio is the most powerful console in the market on paper. It outpaces the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Nintendo Switch by a mile. This is the message that Microsoft will be taking once it reveals the console during E3 this June, according to the Xbox website.
“I’m proud of the progress made with Project Scorpio and what it will mean for the creators who fuel the passion of gamers around the world,” Spencer said on the post. “On behalf of everyone at Team Xbox, thank you for your continued passion and support. We’re excited to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences it powers at E3 this June.”
Polygon notes that Microsoft has a lot to be excited about when it comes to the Scorpio as well, mostly because the company is on point this time. Since the software giant allowed Digital Foundry to take a look at the console’s specs, there has been one consistent message from the Xbox team that Spencer has been pushing.
The Xbox Scorpio is the most powerful game box on the market, period. It will run games better, is compatible with all current generation games and would even make them look better, and cross-platform titles will offer a better experience with Microsoft’s console. That kind of simplistic concept is something that everyone can digest, which is contrary to the PR mess that was the original Xbox One.
