WASHINGTON, Feb. 8, 2016 -- Sedgwick is pleased to announce that Akin M. Alcitepe has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. Alcitepe practices in the areas of commercial and construction litigation before international and domestic dispute tribunals such as the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, International Criminal Court and the American Arbitration Association, as well as in U.S. state and federal courts.
"Akin's outstanding grasp of international and domestic litigation will deliver immediate benefits for our firm and client teams," Sedgwick Chair Michael Healy said. "He adds significantly to the depth of our international practice while also providing valuable experience and insight into complex, cross-border legal matters."

He wrote the first chapter, "Basic Jury Instructions," in the ABA's Model Jury Instructions for Surety Cases as well as an article on investment treaty claims and international construction projects in the Ankara Law Review.
