There are only a few episodes left before “Shadowhunters” ends for good. So fans can expect that what will happen in “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 will be intense, both in good and bad ways.
The official synopsis for “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 indicates that Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) and Simon (Alberto Rosende) are embarking on a very dangerous mission. The two are continuously looking for answers on whatever the Clave has been hiding from them, especially related to the recent revelations in the show.
To gather much-needed answers, Simon agrees to go undercover as a prisoner and plans the whole thing with Izzy. But there are many ways that this operation can go wrong and Simon could be in immediate danger. The “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 promo video already shows Simon getting hurt.
As mentioned, something smells fishy with the Clave. This week’s episode revealed that a sword named Glorious allowed Michael to be separated from Lucifer. The weapon was described to have the “heavenly fire” — which is also the official title of “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17.
Clary (Katherine McNamara) could have used the said weapon to also free herself but it is now believed to be destroyed. But, by the end of the episode, it was suggested that the Clave is hiding more details about this matter. The title of “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 could be a hint at Izzy and Simon successfully extracting more information.
On the other hand, one good thing is happening in “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17. Alec (Matthew Daddario) is going to propose to Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) These two lovebirds have had a rough couple of episodes with Lorenzo Ray’s (Javier Muñoz) magic almost killing the latter.
It was also revealed this week that Magnus is worried Alec would not love him as much now that he is no longer a very powerful warlock. And what better way to prove Magnus wrong than a marriage proposal? This week’s episode showed Alec getting his mother’s ring and the “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 preview confirmed he is gearing up to ask Magnus to get married.
The current season will run with 22 episodes, but Freeform has already confirmed the show’s cancellation. “Shadowhunters” season 3 episode 17 will air on Monday, April 8, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
