‘Shameless’ season 7’s episode 12, entitled "Requiem for a Slut," is set to follow the Gallaghers as they deal with a new death in the family. Frank then goes to work on a new scheme bringing his children with him.
The synopsis for “Requiem for a Slut” posted on Cartermatt reads, “The Gallaghers deal with the loss of one of their own and grapple with mixed feelings about their grief. Meanwhile, Frank (William H. Macy) devises a new scheme, and Debbie (Emma Kenney), Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) and Liam get roped into it. Elsewhere, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) takes steps to improve his future; and Kev (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton) get their revenge on Svetlana (Isidora Goreshter).”
Although the synopsis remained ambiguous and didn’t disclose the Gallagher family member who will be meeting their demise in the incoming episode, an article from iTech Post suggested Monica’s death based on the promo.
The promo video for episode 12 opens with the Gallagher family waiting for news in a hospital’s waiting area. They are then greeted by the news that Monica is unresponsive. In the next scene, the family finds Monica’s things. They go through her possessions until they come across a key bearing an address.
They follow the address to a storage facility where they find a huge amount of drugs. Frank is obviously excited at the new stash but Fiona demands that the drugs be flushed down the toilet. The two then get into a heated argument, which escalates into a full blown physical fight involving the rest of the family.
Frank is seen sneaking around a guarded establishment with Debbie, Carl, and Liam in tow in a sneak peak video. When Debbie confronts him about his plans, he reveals that Monica left something valuable for the kids and that they need to retrieve it. He then warns the children of the danger of their mission saying that the DEA could be involved.
When deliberating who should go punch in the numbers at the gate, Frank decides to send Liam as he is too young to be incarcerated just in case any of them get caught.
Fiona, on the other hand, has different plans following the passing of their mother. In another sneak preview clip, she is seen talking to a funeral booking agent. The agent begins by asking Fiona what arrangements she preferred for the Gallagher matriarch to which Fiona replies, “Yeah. How do we get her into the ground as soon as possible?”
When the agent offers packages specific for any religion, Fiona frankly tells her that she just wants something “fast and cheap.” The agent then hands her brochures of their affordable packages, Fiona turns down each one asking for something more inexpensive.
Exasperated, Fiona asks what she can get for $500 or less. The agent replies, “A cardboard refrigerator box and a gallon of gasoline in our parking lot out back.” Fiona quickly says, “I’ll take that one.”
‘Shameless’ season 7’s episode 12, entitled "Requiem for a Slut," is scheduled to air on Showtime on December 18, 2016.
