For all of the confidence that Soma has displayed all through the many chapters of “Shokugeki no Soma,” he has actually lost quite a few battles. Most of these defeats were in the hands of his father and in “Shokugeki no Soma” Chapter 306, it’s likely that he will lose to his father’s former apprentice. This is if the series doesn’t become a subjective mess of a plot charcuterie.
As TheAnimeScrolls notes, Asahi appears quite confident that he will win the match against Soma and for good reason. The knife addict did defeat his mentor and the father of his current opponent. What exactly is there for him to fear in “Shokugeki no Soma” Chapter 306?
Of course, with the way plot armor goes, it is still possible for Soma to come out victorious in this match but that would be a narrative error of a direction. After all, for someone who has yet to win against his father to then beat the person who already achieved what he couldn’t, would be literary laziness. Then again, it’s not as if this manga series is known for being at the height of intellectual story-telling. This means that “Shokugeki no Soma” Chapter 306 might just see Soma getting the upper hand.
Before getting to that, though, it’s likely that more details will be revealed with regards to the relationship that Asahi has with Joichiro to explain how the mentor lost to his student. Typical manga plot twists often involve tricks or matters of the heart, so it could be either of those. Whatever the case may be, fans will have to wait until “Shokugeki no Soma” Chapter 306 is out.
On that matter, “Shokugeki no Soma” Chapter 306 will be released on April 5. Fans will not have to wait long to find out what happens next.
