SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 14, 2017 -- Silvaco, Inc. today announced it has agreed to merge with Paripath, a company specializing in characterization software, generating sign-off accurate models for cells, I/Os, IPs and memories. The technology from Paripath complements Silvaco’s advanced node portfolio including SPICE simulation, 3D RC extraction, and variation analysis solutions for analog and memory designs.
The need for generation of highly accurate noise, power and timing models for foundational IP has become very complex with shrinking process geometries. GUNA from Paripath offers a fast and flexible characterization platform for standard cells, I/O pad, complex cells and memories. PASER (Paripath Accelerated Simulation Environment) accelerates simulation performance up to 50x using BEST in class analysis engines. It offers simulator agnostic, ultra-fast and high capacity engines to achieve speedup with no change in design methodology or flow.
“As Silvaco’s fifth acquisition in two years, Paripath’s technologies are a welcome addition to Silvaco’s expanding portfolio of EDA tools and we see perfect synergy of GUNA with our advanced circuit simulation engine, SmartSpice,” said Dave Dutton, CEO of Silvaco. “The acquisition further expands our foothold in the characterization and AMS space and helps us advance our growth objectives by delivering more solutions to our customers.”
In addition to GUNA, Paripath’s inCharge also fits well with Silvaco’s product direction. It analyzes custom circuits for charge sharing violations. Charge sharing violations slow speed of domino/dynamic circuits and can cause functional failure.
“The combination of Paripath’s characterization and Silvaco’s simulation technologies is a powerful one,” said Rohit Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paripath. “Our joint effort will help us scale out these important technologies to customers worldwide.”
