TiVo recently announced the new TiVo BOLT, its latest digital video recorder (DVR). The company has added a variety of new features that make BOLT a must buy.
Skip Mode: It is the ‘commercial killer’. The Skip Mode will allow viewers to skip over entire commercial breaks at the press of a button.
Quick Mode: This feature will allow views to watch the shows, particularly sports, news and political addresses, 30 percent faster with proper audio adjustments so that voices don’t get “squirrely”. The pitch-corrected audio enables to comfortably speed through content and understand what everyone is saying.
Support for 4K support: Viewer will need a 4K TV and a broadband Internet connection and when networks start adding 4K content, they will be able to record those programs just like HD content.
Storage: With the TiVo BOLT 500 GB, one can record up to 75 hours of HD programming. The TiVo BOLT 1000 GB doubles that. Moreover, viewers can also purchase additional storage capacity for TiVo BOLT.
"Our goal is to deliver sophisticated, modern devices that will continue to breathe new life into this brand," said Ira Bahr, the company's chief marketing officer, the Verge reported. "This, as well as the updated branding, is also a nod to a new and refreshed direction for the consumer part of our company."
Bahr also said that a ‘Pro model’, likely without the bent box design, is in the works, according to the Verge.
"We already have a roadmap plan to bring you something you’ll like way better in 2016," he says.
TiVo BOLT 500 GB is priced at $299 and 1TB is priced at $399 and includes first year of TiVo Service with $149 per year thereafter.
