Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have long been reported to have called it quits even if they were only married for a little over a year. This news actually blew up after a Chinese news media reported that the Song couple is heading for divorce they have proof.
EconoTimes reported that the Chinese outlet stated that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo have broken up and to support its claims, the publication posted photos of the latter and pointed out that she was not wearing her wedding ring. The divorce news spread and follow-up reports were made, and this time, they published photos of the actor attending some events, and he is not wearing his ring as well.
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo never addressed these divorce rumors, but it appears that they are also trying to dispel the stories in a way that there is no need for interviews. Prior to the filming of “Arthdal Chronicles,” its cast, director and writers have gathered for a script reading, and the “Descendants of the Sun” actor easily refuted the rumors during that event.
As cited on Allkpop, Joong Ki crushed the Chinese media’s divorce reports by showing up at the script reading with his wedding ring on. Fans and observers were quick to see that the actor’s ring is in place and it was like he was saying that he and Song Hye Kyo are still very much together.
In the BTS video of the “Arthdal Chronicles” script reading, all eyes of the viewers lost focus on the reason why the actors were gathered as soon as Joong Ki lifted the script and his hand clearly shows he is wearing his ring.
On behalf of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, their respective agencies already dismissed their break up news, but the actor’s recent display of his wedding ring during the script reading ultimately debunked the divorce speculations. Watch the clip of “Arthdal Chronicles” script reading below:
