Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo broke their marriage last year and their divorce announcement really shocked the world. This is because it has been so fast - they were married for just a year and eight months yet they are already calling it quits.
The Song-Song divorce
Their love story was like a fairy tale at first because after seeing them as partners in the “Descendants of the Sun” drama in 2015, many viewers want them to be lovers in real life so when it really happened, they were very pleased. When they tied the knot on Oct. 31, 2017, these fans were elated and wished the couple a good life.
However, in June 2019, Song Joong Ki filed for divorce and in July of that same year, the family court in Seoul approved and finalized their separation. This means that they are officially single less than a month after the divorce process started.
How they are today?
Nearly a year after their break up, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are almost 100 percent back in the business. Last year, they made headlines for their projects with the actress being mostly involved in promotional activities.
Hye Kyo is also visible in fashion shows in South Korea and abroad but she did not appear in a drama or movie. Instead, she enrolled in an art school in New York for a short course. She also went on trips with her friends and apparently healing with their support.
On the other hand, Song Joong Ki has been busy with drama and movie filmings. After his split from Song Hye Kyo, the third part of “Arthdal Chronicles” premiered then he immediately embarked on filming movies. He filmed at least two movies before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
Currently, Song Joong Ki is in self-isolation after getting back from filming in Bogota, Colombia. Probably, he is already resting with his family. He is also reportedly building a new home in Itaewon where his old house was demolished.
Finally, as for Song Hye Kyo, there is no news about her acting comeback yet and it seems that she is taking a break after being busy with promotional activities last year. Fans may be looking forward to a new movie from her since she signed a contract in Hong Kong-based entertainment company for a film.
