Song Joong Ki bid goodbye to Blossom Entertainment in December. His 7-year contract has expired on the last day of 2019, and while it was rumored that he will be transferring to Kakao M Entertainment, this was proven to be false.
After many speculations as to the actor’s next step after leaving his agency, all the rumors were finally cleared when it was announced last week that he already found a new home. As per Korea’s Osen, starting this month, his career would be managed by History D&C.
The confirmation
On Jan. 3, the said company confirmed that Song Joong Ki already signed a contract with them via an official statement. History D&C stated that it is looking forward to a fresh start with the A-list actor under their wings.
“History D&C is an entertainment company founded by Hwang Ki Yong, who led the iHQ Drama division that also released Song Joong Ki’s dramas including “Tree with Deep Roots,” “The Innocent Man” and “Will It Snow for Christmas?” part of the statement reads. “We will do our best to make sure Song Joong Ki and History D&C create positive synergy for each other and grow together.”
Joong Ki’s new movie project
With his new agency, Song Joong Ki will continue his acting career starting with the release of “Victory,” the first Korean sci-fi movie that also stars some international actors from Hollywood. It was revealed that the 34-year-old actor already completed the filming for this anticipated blockbuster film in November, and he is now preparing to film his next movie called “Bogota.”
Bogota’s shooting details
Sports TV News reported that Song Joong Ki will be flying to Colombia soon to begin filming the said movie that will tell stories about the country’s immigrants in the 90s. It was said that the actor is leaving South Korea in mid-January and is expected to stay in Bogota for at least three months.
Finally, a source shared that Song Joong Ki already visited Colombia in December as part of his preparation for the movie. He did some research and is now fully engrossed in his role.
