Starbucks is adding a new fall favorite to its seasonal menu with the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte. Available hot or iced starting September 19, 2024, the latte features blonde espresso, pecan syrup, and steamed oat milk, topped with a pecan praline crunch for the perfect autumn treat.

Starbucks has unveiled a new seasonal fall beverage, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte, which will be available at locations across the United States starting September 19, 2024. The drink, available in both iced and hot varieties, is expected to be priced similarly to the standard flavored lattes on the Starbucks menu. However, no official pricing has been announced yet. Customers can choose from the usual size options offered by the chain.
Accompanying the new latte is a unique seasonal cold foam offering: the Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam, made with pecan syrup. The foam can be added to any iced beverage and made with either dairy or nondairy ingredients. While cold foam can technically be requested for hot drinks or by itself, Starbucks baristas have advised against doing so. Early reviews of the new drinks, including a first taste by Tasting Table, found the sweet and nutty flavors delightful.
Though Starbucks released its fall menu on August 22, featuring the return of the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte and several other seasonal items, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte was delayed. Initially slated for the winter holiday menu, the Starbucks team decided it would be a better fit for the fall season. Beverage developer Patrick Penny noted that taste testers associated the flavor with autumn, making it an ideal transition drink between the fall and winter holidays.
According to Tasting Table, the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte is made with blonde espresso, pecan syrup, and steamed oat milk, and it’s topped with a pecan praline-like crunch. For those who prefer, the oat milk can be substituted with another milk option. A grande hot version contains 270 calories, 47 grams of carbohydrates (26 grams of sugar), and 170 milligrams of caffeine. The iced version swaps steamed oat milk for cold milk, adds ice, and is topped with Starbucks' nondairy Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam. A grande iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte comes in at 350 calories and 51 grams of carbs, with 33 grams of sugar.

Prices for the drinks will vary by location, but a grande hot Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte is expected to range from $5.75 to $7.25, while the iced version could cost between $5.95 and $7.45. The Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam, which can be added to any iced beverage for an additional $1.45, offers a pecan-infused twist on Starbucks' traditional cold foam.
Reviewers have noted that the hot and iced versions of the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte share a smooth, light body due to the use of oat milk. The flavors are sweet but not overwhelmingly so, with the hot version capturing the buttery richness of pecan pie. In contrast, the iced version offers a slightly different profile, leaning toward a nutty, pastry-like flavor.
Although not initially included in the fall menu preview, the Salted Pecan Cream Cold Foam earned praise when tasted independently. Some reviewers found it underwhelming when paired with cold brew but appreciated its flavor on more indulgent drinks like lattes. Starbucks’ new pecan-flavored drinks have been well received, filling the gap between the pumpkin-flavored offerings of early fall and the festive beverages of the holiday season. The latest additions strike a balance, offering a taste of fall without being too heavy or overly sweet.
