U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that American military strikes against Iran will continue, signaling an escalation in tensions across the Middle East. In a video message posted on Truth Social, Trump stated that “combat operations continue at this time in full force, and they will continue until all our objectives are achieved,” underscoring Washington’s firm stance in the ongoing conflict.
The president confirmed that three U.S. service members were killed in action during recent operations and warned that additional American casualties are likely. “Sadly, there will likely be more. Before it ends, that’s the way it is,” Trump said, adding that the United States would avenge the deaths of its troops. His remarks reflect growing concerns over the expanding U.S.-Iran conflict and its broader regional impact.
Trump maintained strong rhetoric against Tehran while reiterating unwavering U.S. support for Israel. He claimed that Iran’s military leadership had been effectively dismantled and alleged that numerous Iranian officials were seeking to surrender. These comments follow a coordinated wave of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes across Iran, which reportedly killed hundreds, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and neighboring countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Tehran was also reported to have targeted vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route vital to international oil markets and energy security.
The renewed hostilities come after months of strained diplomatic efforts over Iran’s nuclear program. Recent negotiations between Washington and Tehran ended without significant progress, as the U.S. continued to demand a complete halt to Iran’s nuclear enrichment activities. Last year, American forces carried out strikes on several key Iranian nuclear facilities, further deepening tensions between the two nations.
As the conflict intensifies, global markets and geopolitical stability remain on edge amid fears of a prolonged Middle East crisis.
