Bethesda may be keeping its silence about the “Starfield,” but the rumor mill does not. Another image appears in the wild suggesting it also offers an early peek into the all-new space epic from the popular video game developer.
‘Starfield’ leaks: A new screenshot shows possible space lab
The image in question is currently posted via Imgur and was recently shared online. Much like the previous photos that appeared online, it does not show much about the “Starfield” gameplay or the playable character. But it seems to confirm that there will be a space lab in the game.
The latest leaked photo has some similarities to the earlier released image. Fans can see the health and stamina bars in the same position in the lower right corner of the screen. But it also features what looks like a weapon stats information below. Appearing again on the other side of the screen is the round O2 and CO2 meter that can be seen up close through this link.
The screenshot once again suggests that “Starfield” could be played in third-person. Although the latest leak does not clearly show the color of the character’s attire, it appears similarly designed as the spacesuit shown in the earlier released photos. The character is once again facing a large building -- believed to be a laboratory -- but appears to be a different structure than the one shown in the first leaks.
Fans are free to view these images with a grain of salt, but the assets in the latest photo seem to correspond with an earlier claim that these are from an earlier build of “Starfield.” The ground has no detail and appears as a smooth beige-colored surface, which is an unlikely appearance for something that is in outer space. The sky behind the metal building is also just a plain black background -- another unlikely look for a game that is mainly set in space.
‘Starfield’ release date is reportedly planned for 2021
Before these leaks emerged online, there were hints from Bethesda that no important update about “Starfield” would be released in 2020. However, it is interesting to see if these rumored screenshots would change the studio’s plans this year. It has been more than two years since the new game was announced and fans have nothing but an announcement trailer that only runs for a few seconds.
Other than a new trailer, Bethesda has yet to reveal the “Starfield” plot or any gameplay details as well as a release window. However, the same source of the first leaked photos is reportedly claiming that developers are considering to launch the game in 2021.
