‘Steven Universe’ season 6: What to expect in the next chapter plus ‘Steven Universe: The Movie’ details

Steven Universe

“Steven Universe” season 6 is not out yet, and fans are worried that it may not be coming back at all since there is no announcement of its renewal yet. Then again, it appears that there is no need to be concerned as show creator Rebecca Sugar seemed to have hinted that the sixth chapter is still on.

In her previous interviews, she mentioned, although not direct, that “Steven Universe” season 6 is happening. Thus, it is likely to have been just delayed rather than canceled.

Cause of delay

“Steven Universe” season 6 could not go into production earlier because the team is still busy with the “Steven Universe: The Movie.” People behind this animation film are the same ones who work for the TV series so they are obviously preoccupied with the movie’s production as it will be released in the latter part of the year.

What will happen in the next installment

“Steven Universe” season 6 will pick up from the time Steven learned about his identity. He came to know who he really is, and this will made him realize many things, especially how he lives his life. He will be more grown-up so fans can expect less childishness when Steven returns.

“The thing about Steven Universe is that it’s a coming of age story and this is something that he (Steven) had to figure out in order to start making decisions for himself,” Jones-Quartey explained in a podcast when asked about season 6’s plot. “He can’t be distracted by any sort of ‘supposed to.’ It doesn’t exist for him now and he realized that doesn’t have to be what other people want or expect him to be.”

“Steven Universe: The Movie” Details

“Steven Universe” season 4 was delayed due to the movie and here some of the details that we know. It is set to be released this fall, and it will be a musical.

“The epic music-filled adventure for Steven and his friends will overflow with more new songs and music than ever before,” Warner Media stated via press release. “In his first television movie scheduled for this fall, Steven thinks his time defending the Earth is over, but when a new threat comes to Beach City, Steven faces his biggest challenge yet.”

Since this is a musical, the official movie tracklist includes 38 songs as per Den of Geek. some of the titles are “The Tale of Steven,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Message to the Universe, “Let Us Adore You” and “Home Sweet Home.” This will be released on Sept. 2
