People have been waiting for Super Mario Run to become available on Android devices for months now following its release on iOS devices. While its launch was marred by controversy surrounding the miscommunication pertaining to its $10 price tag, there are still those who want to the Nintendo icon running on their smart devices. Starting Wednesday, Android users can get the game, but they still need to pay the full price to finish it.
Android users who heard about the kerfuffle pertaining to the Super Mario Run launch on iOS should not make the assumption that the game is not worth the $10 asking price. Even now, the mobile game is still wildly popular thanks to its entertaining gameplay and substantial replay value. The fact that it is available on Android much earlier than expect, as CNET notes, is also a testament to Nintendo’s commitment to the game.
The announcement from the Japanese game company actually came by Tweet, where Nintendo acknowledged that the launch was early. The Tweet indicated that the game is now available for download at Google Play, although many have responded that they were not notified by the store that the game had arrived.

Just as it is with the iOS version, Super Mario Run is available for download for free. However, in order to finish the game as well as to unlock all of its features, players will need to cough up the full $10, BGR reports.
Along with the game’s actual launch, the version 2.0 update has also come out, which offers quite a bit of security improvements and fixes. As for the game itself, it retains practically all of the aspects that made it such a hit among both players and critics. It is still an excellent platformer with seamless gameplay and addictive features.
