‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 4, entitled “Survivors”, will feature Kara entering Roulette’s illegal alien fight club to shut it down but is forced to battle a fierce opponent in the ring.
The synopsis for “Survivors” posted on Comicbook.com stated, “HANK AND M’GANN GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER; AN ALIEN FIGHT CLUB RUN BY ROULETTE GRABS SUPERGIRL’S ATTENTION — When Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) investigate the murder of an unregistered alien, the trail leads to an alien fight club run by Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman), the ringmaster who commands aliens to fight in mortal combat for the entertainment of rich humans.
While trying to stop the fighting, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter find themselves up against a surprising opponent. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) is thrilled to have found another Martian and tries to get to know M’Gann (guest star Sharon Leal) better. Supergirl takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) under her wing and begins to train him.”
The promo opened with the series’ new supervillain, Roulette, as she explains the rules of the underground alien fight club. Roulette first appeared in the original DC comic book “JSA Secret Files #2” and was created by Geoff Johns and Derec Aucoin. She runs a gambling establishment for supervillains. According to Melty, she is known to be a calculating and manipulative business woman.
Miss Martian then provides more information to fellow martian J’onn J’onzz. She tells him that Roulette has powerful friends to which J’onn J’onzz replied, “So do I.”
In the next scene, Kara appears and threatens to shut down the illegal operation once and for all. However, Roulette then introduces her as the “Girl of Steel” as the titular hero faces off with a new opponent. Soon, a battle to the death between Kara and her opponent commences. It seems that Kara will have a tough time bringing down the vicious alien.
‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 4, entitled “Survivors”, is scheduled to premiere on The CW on October 31, 2016. It was directed by James Marshall and written by Paula Yoo and Eric Carrasco.
