Supreme and Nike revive the iconic Courtposite tennis shoe, first introduced in 2002. The world's top tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz, unexpectedly showcased the Supreme-branded reinvention, stirring immense anticipation.
However, the Nike Courtposite disappeared and quickly reached the brand's archives. It vanished shortly after its introduction as famous tennis players of that period, like Andre Agassi, reportedly refused to wear the sneaker during tournaments.
More than 20 years later, it has reappeared, but this time, the Nike Courtposite bears the Supreme logo. HypeBeast reported that the partners subtly teased the return of the retro sneakers via its Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
The Supreme x Nike Courtposite emerged without warning this week after Carlos Alcaraz, the current no.1 tennis player in the world who is also a Nike athlete was seen with the pair of the classic Courtposite. Observers said that it appears that Nike and Supreme have been secretly working on reviving the tennis shoes.
The Spanish tennis star is preparing for the US Open in New York City. As he was in town, he visited Nike's office in the city and company staff gave him various apparel and footwear as a treat. One of the pairs of shoes that caught the attention of many people was the Supreme x Nike Courtposite.
The shoes are in black and olive green shades, and the Supreme branding was too hard to ignore. This confirms the hint that Supreme is reviving the Nike Courtposite Tennis Sneaker with the 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz as its new model for the collaborative Courtposite that has yet to be officially announced.
Moreover, despite the surprising early preview of the footwear, Complex reported that neither Nike nor Supreme mentioned any details about the product. Thus, the release date is not yet available at this time.
