Swedish industry orders fall sequentially in December

Total orders to Swedish industry dropped in December on a sequential basis. Orders dropped 0.7 percent in seasonally adjusted figures, while it rose 5.8 percent on a year-on-year basis, showed the preliminary data released by Statistics Sweden.

The development in total orders to industry was negative in both the domestic and export market. The domestic market order dropped 1 percent sequentially, while the export market orders dropped 1.8 percent.

On a year-on-year basis, total orders to industry were up 5.8 percent. Orders received from customers in Sweden were up 5 percent, while orders received from customers abroad rose 6.2 percent. Total orders to industry rose 6 percent year-on-year. The domestic market orders were up 6.7 percent, while the export market recorded a rise of 5.4 percent.

Meanwhile, sequential data for November has been upwardly revised by 0.1 percentage points to a rise of 2.7 percent, whereas the year-on-year figure was downwardly revised by 0.2 percentage points to a rise of 7.7 percent.
