Swedish net trade balance for the month of November widened from the same month last year. The nation’s exports of goods amounted to SEK 118 billion, whereas imports of goods came in at SEK 121 billion. The net trade deficit widened to SEK 3 billion in November from the deficit of SEK 2.1 billion in November 2016. On a year-on-year basis, exports rose 4 percent in value, whereas imports were up 5 percent in value.
Swedish trade with nations outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 16.6 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 19.6 billion. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the net trade deficit widened to SEK 0.5 billion in November from October’s deficit of SEK 0.4 billion.
In the January to November period, the value of exports rose 10 percent year-on-year, whereas the value of imports was up 9 percent. Exports amounted to SEK 1194 billion and imports were valued at SEK 1199.9 billion, leading to a trade deficit of SEK 5.9 billion for the January to November 2017 period.
