SAO is back at doing the same thing again with "Sword Art Online: Alicization." Once again our protagonist Kirito will be entering another game and risk his life for those he cares for, even those that are still unbeknownst to him.
Crunchyroll has announced fans will finally get to watch the highly-anticipated next arc of the Sword Art Online anime adaptation, as Sword Art Online Alicization is coming this fall, with territories and timing information to come. In the meantime, check out the visual and synopsis below.
Kirito has made a full-dive into an epic, fantasy-like virtual world. With only a murky recollection of what happened right before he logged in, he starts to wander around, searching for clues. He encounters a boy named Eugeo. Although he is supposedly a resident of the virtual world - an NPC - the boy shows the same array of emotions as any human being.
In the official synopsis of "Sword Art Online: Alicization," it says Kirito bonds with Eugeo, the boy he met in the virtual world. As he continues to search for a way to log out of this world, he sees something in his memory. He remembers racing through the mountains with Eugeo as a child, and he remembers he should not have in the first place. In this memory, Eugeo is a young blond girl named Alice.
The synopsis seems to imply that at some point in time, and due to an unknown reason, fragments of Kirito's memory have been lost. The major question is, are these his memories or of someone else's. As with the past seasons, it seems the thread of The Seeds will still be in play. However, the PV they've released doesn't seem to indicate the stakes. Fans will just have to patiently wait and see things for themselves.
