The TRON Foundation, the organization behind TRON – a project dedicated to the establishment of a truly decentralized Internet and its infrastructure, has increased the rewards for its bug bounty program to a maximum of $10 million.
The rewards are aimed at discovering and eliminating potential technical vulnerabilities in the MainNet ahead of the launch of their public blockchain on June 25.
“We take the security of our platform very seriously,” said Justin Sun, founder of the TRON Foundation. “We are looking for developers who specialize in global network security to help make TRON MainNet one of the most secure public blockchains in the industry and provide a stable infrastructure for future DApps to be deployed on the MainNet.”
TRON’s MainNet testing phase began on May 31. Once testing is complete, TRON will drop its ERC20 identity and become a true token within the TRON ecosystem.
In its official release, the foundation said that the reward increase highlights TRON’s commitment to security in advance of “Independence Day” where TRX will migrate to a fully independent blockchain and the genesis block is created.
Interested developers should review the scope of TRON’s Bug Bounty, including how to submit potential bugs, available on TRON’s Github repository at bit.ly/tronbounty. The TRON Foundation will evaluate submissions based on criteria such as level of bug importance and how hidden it is, and distribute rewards based on ranking. Rewards range from $1,000 to $10,000,000 based on the severity of the issue.
