Six minors were among 11 people shot near Florida A&M University’s stadium Saturday, and Tallahassee police arrested a 15-year-old suspect Sunday as they investigated the violence.
Police identified the suspect as Anthony Rivers III. He faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and a charge of possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Police placed the shooting at about 8 p.m. ET near Perry and Manatee streets, outside Bragg Memorial Stadium. Florida A&M Athletics records show that the university’s homecoming football game ended at 6:51 p.m. ET.
A 12th person injured an ankle while fleeing, police said. At least three of the 12 people injured had serious injuries, police said. Police reported no deaths as of Sunday.
Investigators’ preliminary account points to a dispute among people who knew one another before the gunfire. Police said those struck did not appear to have been the intended targets. The investigation remains open, and police said more arrests are possible.
