Meta reported $25,125,904 in total 2025 compensation for CEO Mark Zuckerberg, including a $14 million annual security allowance, while peer filings use different cost categories.

Meta’s preliminary information statement lists $8,498,301 for Zuckerberg’s personal security. It separately records the annual pretax allowance for added protection for him and his family, $2,467,562 for personal aircraft use and $160,040 for facility improvements to support travel. Meta says it expects Zuckerberg to use the allowance’s full net value after tax withholding; any unused amount may be applied to security expenses in other years. The filing does not establish that the full $14 million paid for services in 2025. Meta’s compensation, nominating and governance committee called the costs “appropriate and necessary in light of the threat landscape.”

Anthropic’s 2026 registration statement lists $2,745,874 for CEO Dario Amodei’s personal-security services in 2025 and another $97,055 for private-air travel required by his security program. The reported Meta total is about 9.2 times Anthropic’s personal-security figure, but this comparison sets total compensation against one security category.

Alphabet disclosed $8,803,400 for CEO Sundar Pichai’s personal security, including home protection, monitoring, car and driver services, and coverage during travel. Tesla reported about $4.8 million in 2025 under an agreement with a security company owned by CEO Elon Musk; the filing says that sum was only part of the total cost of services concerning him.

NVIDIA reported $3,975,533 for CEO Jensen Huang’s residential and personal-travel security, consultation and driver services in fiscal 2026, which ended Jan. 25, 2026. Amazon listed $1,697,861 for CEO Andy Jassy’s security beyond arrangements at company facilities and for business travel. It separately reported $1.6 million for Executive Chair Jeff Bezos’s security beyond those provisions.

The arrangements benefit the named executives and, in some cases, their families; companies report the amounts as compensation or expenses. Anthropic said its board considered an outside security review, increased media attention and risks tied to the Amodeis’ company roles when approving added protection. The company also disclosed threats to employee safety and attempts to obtain confidential information amid greater attention to AI.

Equilar’s review of S&P 500 proxy filings through April 7, 2026, found that 37.8% of companies provided security benefits to at least some executives in 2025, up from 33.5% in 2024. Among companies offering the benefits, the median was $130,468. Equilar discussed rising board attention in the context of the December 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
