In a demanding uphill towing test by TFL Truck, the Tesla Cybertruck outshone the Ford F-150, proving its towing prowess.
Cybertruck Proves Hauling Capabilities
Some have claimed that the Tesla Cybertruck is completely incapable of performing "truck things" like towing, which is among the many complaints leveled against it. However, according to a recent test conducted by a well-known YouTube trucking channel, the Tesla Cybertruck seems to have hauling capabilities that much surpass the norm.
The Fast Lane (TLF) Truck decided to put the Ford F-150 and Tesla Cybertruck through their paces in a towing torture test, which included climbing a mountain while each vehicle was pulled by a 10,500-pound load. The Cybertruck's maximum towing capacity is almost reached at that point, Teslarati reports.
The Ford F-150 has become practically the de facto benchmark for pickup trucks. After all, there's a good reason it's one of the best-selling cars in America. This, according to the YouTube channel's hosts, makes the Ford F-150 an excellent starting point for showcasing the capabilities of pickup trucks. It goes without saying that the exam itself yielded some unexpected outcomes.
Ford F-150 Faces Overheating Issues
The Ford F-150 passed the towing torture test unscathed, as shown in the video from TFL Truck channel. Two times, though, it did overheat. The fact that the Ford F-150 kept going and didn't stall or signal the presenters of the YouTube channel to stop is fantastic. Overheating caused the vehicle to reduce its performance, but it still managed to pass the towing endurance test.
This was not an issue with the Tesla Cybertruck. The Cybertruck's uphill test consumed a lot of power, yet the electric pickup truck kept running smoothly and didn't become hot.
Cybertruck Performs Smoothly
Although the hosts of the YouTube channel did notice that the Cybertruck's electric motors were becoming noisy during the test, they also noted that the battery and motors did not experience excessive heating. Despite a significant decrease in range throughout testing, Cybertruck still performed amazingly overall.
