Tesla CEO Elon Musk has had brief appearances on several science-themed and sci-fi shows and movies like the now-defunct “The Big Bang Theory” and “Iron Man 2.” But it might be time for one of his company’s electric vehicles to be the star in the popular media. It is now speculated that the newly unveiled Tesla Cybertruck could be part of the car lineup in “Cyberpunk 2077.”
Tesla Cybertruck: How a Twitter exchange sparks speculations of electric pickup’s video game appearance
Musk tweeted a photo of him on-stage at the unveiling of the Tesla Cybertruck last Thursday that got the attention of the official Twitter page for “Cyberpunk 2077.” It should be noted that Tesla’s upcoming pickup truck was designed and being advertised with heavy references to the cyberpunk genre.
We had a deal, Elon ????

The game’s social media page appears to be reminding Musk of a “deal” that they had to which the Tesla CEO replied, “See ya in 2077.” Many might argue that it was just a simple Twitter interaction, but PC Gamer pointed out that the exchange being retweeted by the PR head of CD Projekt Red might be saying otherwise.
It is not far-fetched for Tesla Cybertruck to appear in the highly-anticipated video game. The electric pickup truck received mixed reactions from tech and automobile fans because its design appears to be too futuristic to many. But that appearance will look just like an ordinary vehicle in a video game set in the year 2077.
It should also be noted that the vehicle lineup is one of the gameplay features most anticipated in “Cyberpunk 2077.” Collaborating with a real-life car maker is known for taking major technological leaps that could yield good marketing results for the game and Tesla Cybertruck.
Tesla Cybertruck release date, specs: What to expect
If the Tesla Cybertruck is included in the “Cyberpunk 2077” vehicle lineup, there is a chance it would be added post-launch. The video game will be released on April 16, 2020, while the electric pickup truck will not be delivered until late 2021.
Since the announcement of Tesla Cybertruck, the company is accepting orders for three variants. The basic model is a single motor rear-wheel-drive starting at $39,900 with over a 250-mile range, 7,500 lbs towing capacity, and could go from 0 to 60mph in under 6.5 seconds.
