Tesla's Model Y "Juniper" prototypes have been seen with new features, including a striking red light bar and aggressive design. Speculations point to a performance model, enhancing Tesla's edge in the EV market.
Tesla Model Y Prototype Spotted with Exciting New Features
The redesigned all-electric crossover was spotted driving on public roads in recent videos of what appear to be Model Y "Juniper" prototypes.
One of the automobiles racing through the rain at high speed is captured in an intriguing video among these. The prototype's huge brake calipers have led many to believe it was a performance model.
A red light bar, long speculated for the Model Y "Juniper" Performance, was seen on the back of the car in the putative prototype. From what we could tell in the footage, the vehicle's headlights were also rather aggressive.
Enhanced Stability and Aggressive Design Hints at Performance Model
Despite the prototype's high ride height and high speed, the vehicle's suspension appeared to be highly stable.
Despite Elon Musk and Tesla's relative silence on the subject of the upgraded Model Y, there has been an uptick in sightings of what appear to be prototypes of the vehicle in the past several months.
Further evidence suggests that Giga Shanghai has already begun the initial production of the upgraded all-electric crossover, according to reports coming from China.
One of Tesla's best-selling vehicles, the Model Y, also happened to be the best-selling automobile in the world in terms of volume in 2023. Nonetheless, the majority of sales are made using the original design, Teslarati shares.
Tesla's Competitive Advantage with Model Y Updates
Last year, it got a major upgrade, much like its sibling, the Model 3.
There are strong hopes that Tesla will be able to gain an even greater competitive advantage in the electric vehicle market with the release of an improved Model Y.
