Tesla Model Y is the next most-anticipated electric car from the company. Customers who placed an order would be delighted to learn that more reports suggest the carmaker is well on its way to keep its promise of delivering the vehicle by next year. \
In fact, the better question to ask at this point is how early Tesla would be adjusting the Model Y’s delivery window. The latest analyst prediction suggests it could be sometime in mid-2020.
Tesla Model Y release date now eyed in mid-2020
Tesla’s upcoming electric crossover SUV was first unveiled at an event last March. At the time, Elon Musk announced that the car was slated for a late 2020 release date. However, that has been changed in the months that followed with the latest report suggesting that Tesla will be able to deliver Model Y by summer next year.
The report comes from Baird analyst Ben Kallo after visiting Tesla’s Fremont, California factory. Within the said period, Kallo eyes Tesla to be able to produce at least 1,000 units of Model Y every week. Kallo’s note affirms Musk’s previous confirmation on the changes in Model Y’s release.
At the company’s Q3 2019 earnings meeting, Musk confirmed that the company could move up the release date window for the Tesla Model Y. The delivery period has since been set for summer 2020. Kallo’s recent note assures investors that Tesla is capable of maintaining the new timetable.
Interestingly, another analysis that came out in the previous week was suggesting an earlier delivery period for the Tesla Model Y. Deutsche Bank researchers suggested that the vehicle could be distributed as soon as Q1 2020, but this assessment was based on Tesla’s factory in Shanghai, China.
Tesla Cybertruck: Survey shows electric pickup’s design could be a deal-breaker to some
While the Model Y is possibly on the wish list of most electric vehicle fans, Tesla made headlines this fall for a different car. The company announced its highly anticipated pickup truck in late November that it officially called the Cybertruck. Its design lives up to its name, but it might be too futuristic for many automobile fans.
Research firm Pipslay asked 21,134 Americans to survey how they feel about the Tesla Cybertruck. Of that sample size, only 44 percent have knowledge about the newly announced vehicle, and only 29 percent were reportedly positive about the electric pickup.

While the survey offers an interesting take on the Cybertruck, it does not translate to the reported pre-orders Tesla received since announcing the vehicle. Musk tweeted “20k” and then replied to that with “250k” the day after Cybertruck’s announcement leading to speculations that it translates to the pre-orders the company received.
