Al Jazeera reported that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and state Rep. James Talarico made final appearances before Tuesday’s vote, while an earlier CBS News/YouGov poll put them within its margin of error.

Paxton is the Republican candidate, and Talarico is a Democrat. The Texas Secretary of State’s certified ballot also lists Libertarian Ted Brown, bringing the field to three candidates.

The CBS News/YouGov poll put Talarico at 51% among likely voters and Paxton at 49%. The two-point gap was smaller than the survey’s 3.5-percentage-point margin of error. EconoTimes previously reported on the poll.

A separate CBS News/YouGov survey of 1,492 registered Texas voters, conducted Oct. 8-16, found cost of living ranked first among issues; most respondents said higher prices had hurt them. EconoTimes previously covered voter priorities in the race.

Voters are scheduled to cast ballots Tuesday, Nov. 3.
