It would appear that there has been a growing impression of dullness among viewers of “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” due to the lack of serious action in recent episodes. For much of the last three episodes, for example, the focus has been on diplomacy and trade. However, “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” Episode 18 might finally change things up a bit. This will be due to Milim’s own actions resulting in consequences that will involve all of Jura forest.
As Anime News Network noted in its review of the show’s previous episode, the show has become a bit repetitive of late. Fortunately, “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” Episode 18 is coming and it brings with it trouble. This comes in the form of what can only be described as a giant flying fish. It will also be accompanied by flying sharks because why not?
In any case, while the description of the creature might make it sound silly, there is nothing at all funny about its nature. Named Charybdis, this is a calamity-class beast that is powerful enough to give most demon lords pause. This is the creature that could be heading Rimuru’s way in “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” Episode 18 and it’s thanks to Milim.
In the previous episode, Milim humiliated one of Carrion’s subordinates and this implanted a hatred that will become the catalyst of Charybdis. A vestige of this animosity is what will lead the creature to head towards Rimuru’s town. More information will be provided in “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” Episode 18.
On that note, it’s worth pointing out that “That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” Episode 18 might just see Charybdis making an appearance. The real fight likely won’t start when the episode airs on Feb. 5.
