“That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 episode 1 will likely put Rimuru in grave danger. He will face a potentially fatal attack from someone who briefly appeared in an earlier episode.
Before digging into the plot of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2, it is important to review what happened in the final moments of the first season. It can be recalled that Rimuru left Tempest to travel to the human kingdom alone. And while he was saying goodbye to his friends, a mysterious character was watching him from a distance.
That character is named Hinata Sakaguchi and she will most likely play an important role in the upcoming episodes of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2. Hinata is the leader of the Imperial Guards so she is under the payroll of the Western Saints Church’s Pope. This means that one of her main tasks is to eliminate all the demons, like Rimuru, who are all taught to be evil by the church’s doctrines.
Anime fans can expect “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 to pick up from Rimuru’s lone journey. Unfortunately, he will not realize Hinata is following him until she launches an attack. Monsters & Critics reports that Hinata wins this encounter and even lands a fatal blow on the main protagonist. Thinking that Rimuru will eventually die, Hinata leaves the scene.
However, just as many anime fans would think, Rimuru is very unlikely going to die from Hinata’s attack and in an early episode of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2. It can be recalled that the first season foreshadowed the arc centered on Rimuru becoming a True Demon Lord.
Based on the novel series, Hinata and Rimuru will meet again. She eventually learns that Rimuru survived her attack and even made it back to Tempest and single-handedly defeated an army with tens of thousands of soldiers. Depending on the length of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2, Hinata and Rimuru will meet again in another battle.

Their second encounter, however, will end up beautifully — without casualties and Rimuru successfully changing Hinata’s and her knights’ perception of demons. “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 is slated to premiere in 2020.
