“The Blacklist” Season 6 is but a few weeks away and fans can’t wait for the crime thriller series to return on television. The last installment’s finale left audiences hanging as it was revealed that Red (James Spader) is actually an impostor.
And now that Liz (Megan Boone) has found out the man’s secret, it’s expected that this agent will turn her skills towards the very man she’s been working with all these years. It’s still unclear whether Liz will be the one to kill Red at the end of the show’s conclusion, or if Red ever gets killed at all. There’s no question that James Spader is the lifeblood that keeps the series interesting and killing off his character will surely result in a decrease in rating performance. But first, Liz will need to uncover the identity of Red before she acts on “The Blacklist” Season 6.
After all, she has learned by now that gathering intelligence first, then implementing a plan is the best course of action when dealing with dangerous individuals. And Red is as dangerous as they come. To complicate matters, Red is considered to be the father of Liz although it isn’t really clear if this is the case. Fans are hoping that the showrunners will provide some hints about this plot development in “The Blacklist” Season 6.
But others are suggesting that NBC should not stretch the reveal too long as there are fans out there claiming that they saw through this plot twist a mile away. Even though show creator John Bokenkamp said that they’ve been closely guarding this secret since season one, some clever and obsessed audiences have supposedly managed to correctly predict the reveal. As for when the show will return, “The Blacklist” Season 6 has been slated for release on Jan. 3, 2019.
The two-hour premiere is reportedly going to be split in two days, starting at Thursday then permanently airing every Friday. “The Blacklist” Season 6 is expected to be a cat and mouse installment with Red trying to maneuver his way and Liz desperately trying to unmask who this individual really is.
But Bokenkamp said that this revelation is but a piece of the larger whole, Entertainment Weekly reported. More pieces will come out in “The Blacklist” Season 6 that would explain everything that has been unfolding so far.
