Chinko Project seeks help on how to make use on bitcoin donations

The Chinko Project which manages a nature reserve in the heart of Africa has asked on Reddit how to spend bitcoin donations it has received from few donors.

In a post on Reddit, a user by the name ‘zambuka42’ has asked on how to make effective use of bitcoin donations. He addressed himself as accidental IT guy + anti-poaching pilot in the Central African Bush who was frustrated at Microsoft for their Windows 10 shenanigans and said that he is with the project staff of Chinko Project.

The post stated, “Hi, not sure if you saw, but I'm that anti-poaching pilot in Central Africa that recently had an issue with M$. Some kind folks donated BTC to us (we were just curious to try), but now we need some advice (being in the bush) on how to use them.

The person vented out his frustration about automatic Windows 10 updates during a Reddit AMA. The person set out to promote a crowdfunding campaign on Reddit to replace ULM which was lost in the Central African Bush.

“Basically, if it’s not possible for us to turn this into donated money. Perhaps we could use it to help buy supplies online. I know I’ll probably be lambasted for not performing the due diligence and research myself.. but things are very hectic around here, and our generators don’t run on Sunday. So the batteries will be losing power soon. If anyone is willing to recommend some online suppliers of tech/gear, that might be suitable for an anti-poaching group. I’d appreciate the input,” he stated.

A user in the comments suggested considering getting a Bitcoin debit card, as it would make spending the coins online possible without much friction. The person also generously thanked on Reddit to those donors who have donated bitcoins.

The thanks message stated, “And thanks to everyone who donated.. every little bit counts and we've been blown away by the generosity!” There is a lot of valid advice being posted on the Reddit thread following this. A solution will be soon found to help the anti-poacher group through collaboration and open discussion.

The project founded in 2012, consists of a team of local Central African and foreign expat staff in the Chinko Reserve that borders Congo & South Sudan. They have been trying to save wildlife from the militarized rebel poachers.
