The CW's DC Comics series about the scarlet speedster, "The Flash," is slowly turning into a family show – albeit one with more time-traveling and villain fighting than the usual family television shows on air.
The show's last season saw a significant overhaul of Team Flash with the loss of Earth-2's Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh) but also the introduction of Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West's (Candice Patton) daughter who has travelled through time from the future to help her father destroy the falling satellites just in time for “The Flash” season 5.
TV Line recently uploaded a gallery of “The Flash” season 5 preview images, which showcase Barry Allen and Iris West's daughter in her superhero costume. It looks like Nora West-Allen – or as she calls herself, XS – is in for the long haul of fighting crime beside her father, before she was even born. Some of the images also show Nora fitting in with the other Team Flash members. But there is another character featured in the season 5 preview gallery which fans may be interested in learning more about.
The gallery also showcased the first “The Flash” season 5 villain that will most likely be taken on by the father-daughter duo of Barry and Nora. Named Gridlock, the upcoming villain does not have many details about him revealed yet. Fans may note that the villain's name is a play on the term for traffic congestion. There is a possibility that Gridlock may pose a threat to the agile father-daughter duo's speed focused powers.
Fans of the Barry Allen's adventures with his superpowered family members and S.T.A.R. Labs team who can't wait to see Barry Allen and Nora together in action can look forward to “The Flash” season 5 airing its premiere episode on Oct. 9.
