“The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 is one of the highly requested anime series despite years of not having any updates about it. But what fans may not have noticed is that the opening scene of the next season might have already been revealed.

This month marks the fifth year since season 1 concluded. While producers are mum about “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2, they continued the anime adaptation through the release of a sequel movie. In 2017, “The Irregular At Magic High School: The Girl Who Summons the Stars” was released directly following the events of season 1.
The 26 episodes of season 1 followed the first nine volumes of the light novel series. The said movie covered events from volumes 10 and 11 leaving volume 12 the most likely starting point of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2.
However, some fans may not have realized this but the very first season from volume 12 was included in the sequel movie as a post-credit scene. It could also be one of the reasons why some fans are convinced that “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 could still happen in the future.
In the movie’s post-credits scene, a happy Miyuki looks up to her brother Tatsuya as they walk their way to school. It is the first day of a new school year on April 6, 2096. But what really puts a smile on Miyuki’s face is Tatsuya’s recent achievements. The final seconds of the movie zoom in on Tatsuya’s right shoulder where his emblem is attached. It was an eight-petal gear that symbolizes the new curriculum Magic Engineering that was formed because of Tatsuya’s previous accomplishments.

The said post-credit scene leaves many fans hoping for the release of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2. Unfortunately, there has not been any official word about the anime series’s return on TV since 2014 making it hard to predict a release date.
The movie’s home media copies sold almost 40,000 units within less than six months, and that is an impressive sales performance. Also, the light novel series so far has 29 volumes leaving 18 more installments left unreleased in anime form. It is then very easy to understand why many fans are still looking forward to the premiere of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2.
