The production and release of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 is something that anime fans have been wondering about for several years now. Aside from that, some viewers might also be wondering on which studio is going to produce the new episodes should the series be renewed.
‘The Irregular At Magic High School’ season 2 production: Is Madhouse working on the sequel
Season 1’s 26 episodes were produced by the studio Madhouse, one of the well-known anime producers in the world. The “The Irregular At Magic High School” series is just one of the popular titles that Madhouse has worked on over the years. However, there has been a long-running perception that Madhouse is notorious for not coming back to work on sequels, whether it is an anime series or a movie. Will this be the case for “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2?
First, it is important to note that some franchises already shattered the myth that Madhouse deliberately does not work on second seasons. For example, the studio has consistently produced all three seasons of Kugane Murayama’s “Overlord” anime adaptation. However, technically, “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 1’s sequel was the 2017 movie titled “The Girl Who Calls the Stars” that was produced by Eight Bit.
It should be noted that “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 has not been announced yet in any form. But with only a few months left in 2019 and an already jam-packed fall season, it is unlikely to be released this year.
Madhouse does not have many projects yet listed for 2020 other than the continuation of “Ace of Diamond” season 2, according to online sources. If prayers of the fans will be answered and “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 is confirmed next year, there is a slight chance that Madhouse will be signed to produce the new episodes.
‘The Irregular At Magic High School’ season 2 anime series renewal still possible?
Since the status of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 is not yet confirmed, it is quite hard to determine even the window of its release date. However, many fans are hoping that the second season is still happening especially after seeing the post-credits scene from the sequel movie.
