“The Last Kingdom” season 3 is coming with new cast members and they will play interesting parts in the new installment. To get to know them before the series airs, read below an introduction to the stars and which characters they are playing.
Cast
“The Last Kingdom” season 3 will feature new names and these include Thea Sofie Loch Naess (Skade ), Timothy Innes (Edward) and Tygo Gernandt (Jackdaw). Fans can also expect some returning cast members like Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith), David Dawson (King Alfred), Toby Regbo (Aethelred), Emily Cox (Brida) and Millie Brady (Aethelflaed, daughter of King Alfred).
As mentioned, Thea Sofie Loch Ness Skade will play Skade, a skilled warrior and Harald’s (Bloodhair) companion who presents one of the main threats to Wessex. The actress grew up in Oslo but was born in Kristiansand, Norway. This role is her most high-profile project yet.
For the role of Bloodhair in “The Last Kingdom” season 3, Ola Rapace will be on the show. He is a Swedish actor known for his works in “Skyfall” and “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.”
Plot
The first half of “The Last Kingdom” season 3 is based on Bernard Cornwell’s fifth book in his "The Saxon Stories" series titled “The Burning Land.” As per Express, Uhtred will find his loyalty to King Alfred will dwindle and reach its breaking point.
Alfred wants to protect his legacy and unite the kingdoms of England; however, the Danes keep getting in the way with their continuous attacks. He will ask Uhtred for help so he can bring the lands together, but the warrior will question his own motives for helping the king.
“The Last Kingdom” season 3 will also show Uhtred (Alexander Doetsch) and Ragnar’s (Tobias Santelmann) reunion as the former is trying to fathom what he wants after his fall out with King Alfred. Expect lots of battles as lands reunite to form England as one nation.
Release Date
“The Last Kingdom” season 3 is coming to Netflix and will be released in one drop. This means fans can finish all the 10 episodes of the third installment in one sitting if they can. The release date is not yet available at this time.
Meanwhile, Winter is Coming reported that “The Last Kingdom” season 3 has launched a contest for fans. They could win two tickets to the MCM Comic-Con London, which will be held on Oct. 27.
Winners will get the chance to catch the advance screening of the pilot episode and they will get to see some of the series’s stars, including Alexander Doetsch, David Dawson, Emily Cox, and Millie Brady. The lucky winners are set to receive a limited-edition signed artwork.
