The season finale for the third season of “The Magicians” was something of a reboot for the series, with Alice (Olivia Dudley) making a choice that will have a profound effect on everyone around her. She will basically turn her friends’ worlds upside down and lead to some grave consequences in “The Magicians” Season 4. While the upcoming season is in production, a comic book adaptation of the novel is also in the works.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, the cast of the fantasy show revealed what their characters are currently going through in “The Magicians” Season 4. Olivia Dudley revealed the unsurprising fact that Alice is feeling quite guilty for forcing such a radical change in the world. Hale Appleman talks about how Eliot is now a vessel of unimaginable evil, and Summer Bishil touches on how she is now Janet instead of Margo.
Suffice it to say, fans of the SyFy series will have much to look forward to, with the show basically getting a fresh start. “The Magicians” Season 4 is already in production and is expected to premiere in the middle of 2019.
Speaking of 2019, “The Magicians” Season 4 is not the only thing that’s coming to fans of the property since a comic book version of the 2009 novel is also being adapted. The variant will be made under BOOM! Studios and the folks behind it will be working closely with the books’ author, Lev Grossman, Paste Magazine reports.
For those who might be worried that the comics will just be a retelling of old stories, it would seem that this is not the case. The illustrated medium will apparently cover new plot details and will focus on new characters except for Alice. This should make for an excellent accompaniment to “The Magicians” Season 4, especially if they come out at around the same time.
