‘The Man In The High Castle’ Season 2 Trailer Promises Juliana’s Meeting with the Man; Series Picks Up With Mounting Tensions Between Germany, Japan

‘The Man In the High Castle’ season 2 trailer features Juliana’s meeting with the titular Man. The incoming season is set to pick up with the mounting tensions between Germany and Japan as Juliana faces the consequences of her decision to betray the Resistance.

According to Den of Geek, season 2 of the American dystopian alternative history web television series produced by Amazon Studios consists of ten episodes and is set to premiere on December 16, 2016.

The series, which released its pilot episode last January 2015, depicts an alternate reality where the Axis powers – Germany, Italy, and Japan – won World War II. United States in the year 1962 has been divided into three parts: the Japanese Pacific States, a Nazi puppet state, and the Neutral Zone, which acts as a buffer between the two. It is loosely based on Philip K. Dick’s 1962 novel of the same name.

The official synopsis for season 2 posted on /Film reads, “Season two resumes with Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) facing the consequences of her decision to betray the Resistance and allow Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank), a suspected Nazi agent, to escape the Pacific States with a film originally bound for the Man in the High Castle.

Joe himself returns a hero to the Reich and finds himself thrust into the Nazi capital of Berlin, face to face with the father who abandoned him. Meanwhile, Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) becomes increasingly radicalized and drawn further into the Resistance after seeing images of his own execution in the mysterious films.”

Meanwhile, the synopsis also revealed that the incoming season will pick up with the mounting political tensions between the super powers Germany and Japan. Season 2’s trailer promises Juliana’s highly-anticipated meeting with the Man in the High Castle himself. She is still in possession of the mysterious films in which the Allies won World War II.

According to Deadline, Stephen Root is set to play the titular character, a mysterious figure connected to the films Juliana has come to acquire. These films are hunted down by the Nazis and the Japanese as both camps attempt to destroy them once and for all.

Root is an actor-comedian best known for his work on several film and television projects including the NBC sitcom ‘NewsRadio’ and the animated sitcom ‘King of the Hill.’

‘The Man in the High Castle’ season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Video on December 16, 2016.
