“The Promised Neverland” season 2 finally has an official release date helping fans prepare for its upcoming premiere. However, some technical details remain unknown, leaving viewers wondering what story arcs could be included in the next installment.
‘The Promised Neverland’ season 2 release date
It has been a while since fans knew that “The Promised Neverland” season 2 will premiere in January 2021. However, the exact release date was just announced earlier this week.
The announcement was made through the official website of the series on Thursday and confirmed that “The Promised Neverland” season 2 will be released on Jan. 7, 2021. This means, from that point, new episodes will arrive every Thursday as well.
Fans will have to wait for other “The Promised Neverland” season 2 information, though. In Japan, Fuji TV will broadcast the new episodes, but fans around the world have yet to learn what streaming platforms and official channels will simulcast the new episodes next year.
‘The Promised Neverland’ season 2 spoilers, episode count
Another information not included in the release date announcement is the episode count for “The Promised Neverland” season 2. The first season had 12 episodes covering more than 30 manga chapters from two story arcs. But as the story progress, source materials naturally have more content in them, making fans hope that the anime will have more episodes next year.
Those who are familiar with the manga story arcs are hoping that “The Promised Neverland” season 2 will have a two-cour release, which usually consists of more than 20 episodes. In this case, fans believe that the series will be able to have a balanced adaptation pacing, while others hope this format would allow season 2 to reach the much-awaited Goldy Pond Battle arc.
“The Promised Neverland” season 2 is expected to pick up shortly after the events of Emma’s group’s escape from the Grace Field House. The first episodes of 2021 are likely to show the children exploring the Demon Forest. In the process, they learn more about the outside world while also meeting some friendly demons along the way.
Of course, being outside the orphanage means Emma’s group are facing new kinds of dangers. Also, they will have to find a new place of shelter while they continue their search for William Minerva in “The Promised Neverland” season 2.
