Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for many things, but his impressive physique is possibly one of his most notable features, second only to his genuinely warm personality. Now, this former wrestler turned movie superstar is launching his own line of workout headphones. Called Project Rock, it was built by JBL after partnering with Under Armour. It also costs $249.
The headphones are branded with the Brahma bull insignia that The Rock is known for, which he uses and endorses. The headphones are sweat-proof, The Verge reports, which addresses a problem that has always been an issue with similar products. After all, it can be difficult to get any kind of workout done when the things keep sliding off one’s head due to moisture.
Aside from the sweat-proof nature of the headphones, they also come with a custom Spotify playlist that The Rock put together himself. Called “Iron Paradise Airwaves,” the list contains tunes that the iconic gym rat listens to as well.
It’s worth noting that Project Rock is technically under the UA Sport wireless headphones umbrella called Project Rock Edition. It’s part of a selection of items that the brand is marketing with the endorsement of Johnson, which is dubbed the “Chase Greatness” line. It contains shoes, shirts, caps, hoodies, and others with the same bull insignia branded on them and the print “chase greatness.”
Coming back to the headphones, the fabrics that cover them are made by Under Armour and they are intended to be breathable while also providing anti-slip grip. The result is a set of headphones that is simultaneously soft and stable, which is incredibly helpful during intense workouts.
The pads on the headphones can be removed and washed as well, which is great. Using them for working out inevitably means that they are going to smell and that can get really distracting.
