EA and Maxis have yet to confirm the development and future release of “The Sims 5.” While fans are waiting for that to happen, many have been wondering what major upgrades the next main series installment will have.
The series is probably the most popular life simulation video game franchise. For some reasons, however, the addition of toddlers has always been part of expansion packs. That leads to the speculations that maybe “The Sims 5” will be the time when developers finally feature toddlers as part of the base game.
‘The Sims 5’ gameplay wishlist: Toddlers included in the base game?
In real life, building one’s own family is one of the biggest milestones, and the same goes for “The Sims.” Having toddlers in the game, who also grow up to be teenagers, add more interesting aspects to it. So it is not surprising that one of the most requested “The Sims 5” features is having toddlers as part of the main game.
Unfortunately, there is no assurance that EA and Maxis will heed to this request, especially since the Toddler features has always been part of post-launch content. But since Toddlers and Teenagers have become important gameplay features in “The Sims 4,” there is more hope that the developers could be planning to improve this element further.
In 2017, EA released the “Parenthood” game pack for “The Sims 4” that brought in more realistic features in raising a toddler or a teenager. The additional content made the younger Sims more moody and even rebellious at times, adding more challenge to being a parent in the game. It would not hurt to expect that “The Sims 5” will surpass this development whether or not children would become part of the base release.
‘The Sims 5’ release date: 2019 launch no longer possible
Many gaming fans have been expecting “The Sims 5” to be released this year. One of the reasons why this release date speculation has been widely reported was the fact that previous main series installments were launched with roughly five-year intervals each. Since “The Sims 4” was released in 2014, many anticipated its successor to be at least announced in 2019.
However, the developers appear to still be fully on deck in pushing out more contents for “The Sims 4.” Additionally, some of the biggest gaming conventions have already taken place, but EA has not even released any teaser for “The Sims 5.” Thus, fans might as well expect new expansion packs for “TS4” but not an entirely new game anytime soon.
