‘The Winds of Winter’ Release Date, Spoilers: Jon Snow Stays Dead Longer; Wargs Through Ghost?

There have been a lot of talks lately that “The Winds of Winter” might be released, hopefully, in 2019. Before that happens, fans may revisit one of the highly anticipated plots in the remaining “A Song of Ice and Fire” books — Jon Snow’s warg abilities.

In George R.R. Martin’s widely popular book series, wargs are people who have the ability to enter the consciousness of an animal or another person. Wargs can then control their movements and see or feel things through them. This is one of the series highlights that was not explored in the TV show as much as it was in the books. Now, fans are hoping “The Winds of Winter” will cover more about the mystery of warging through Jon Snow.

There were several differences in the fate of Kit Harington’s character between the TV series and the “A Dance with Dragons” book. But, nevertheless, Jon Snow faced his demise in both franchises. Now, it is interesting how he will be resurrected in “The Winds of Winter.”

Jon Snow did not stay dead for too long when “Game of Thrones” returned for season 6. But fans waiting for the release of “The Winds of Winter” believe that he will remain dead for a much longer period in the upcoming book.

And, on a good note, this will allow Jon Snow to warg into his direwolf, Ghost. Fans on Reddit even speculate on having a chapter written in the point of view of Ghost in “The Winds of Winter.”

On the other hand, fans are still clueless about the “The Winds of Winter” official release date. However, there were several signs in the past weeks that suggest it might be happening before 2019 ends.

George R.R. Martin has been discussing “The Winds of Winter” more on his media appearances since the release of “Fire and Blood” last Nov. 20. After explaining that writing the sequel is much more complex than the new book series, the author promised that the sixth “ASoIaF” novel is now his top priority.
