Henry Cavill is known for playing powerful roles such as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s “The Witcher” and as Superman in “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and “Justice League.” But the actor just revealed his geeky side saying that he would rather play the strategy game “Total War: Warhammer 2” than go out.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Cavill even revealed that he has placed through the game six times already. “With six different races! And I love it each time!” Cavill said, which means he probably logged hundreds of hours of gameplay already since each campaign takes quite a long time to finish.
The interview took place a few hours before Netflix released “The Witcher” on the platform. For Cavill, gaming is a form of escapism that he indulged in since childhood. He thinks he probably needs more game time now that he has basically lost his anonymity along with the rise of his acting career.
“Every time I step out my front door, I’m hyper aware,” Henry told GQ. “Even if I’m not looking terrible, you still realise there are people taking sneaky photos of you, because that’s what people like to do. And then they put them on the internet and you see them on Instagram and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’”
Thus, gaming became his favorite activity when he doesn’t feel like going out. “At home, I get to sit playing games for ridiculous amounts of hours and escape there, because going outside has the opposite effect,” the actor said.
As far as gaming is concerned, Cavill can be considered a well-rounded one. Aside from the strategy game “Total War: Warhammer 2” he also enjoys a few games from different genres.
For instance, he also loves to play CD Projekt Red's “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” which he completed two-and-a-half times, according to GameSpot. Cavill also revealed that he enjoyed playing “Delta Force” and “Half-Life” as well.
It’s not that surprising that Henry Cavill found “Total War: Warhammer 2” a great game to play, according to VentureBeat. Released on September 28, 2017, patches have introduced new playable lords for existing factions since then, which made it more enjoyable especially the game's Mortal Empires mega-campaign.
